In our latest NFL season preview we look at the Cleveland Browns. With the drafting of Baker Mayfield Cleveland Browns odds have improved. What does this mean for Browns fans?

Last season, the Cleveland Browns tied the 2008 Detroit Lions. As the only two teams to go 0-16 during the regular season. In the past two years, the Browns have only one win. However the team and their fans are expecting a big turnaround next season thanks to their offseason moves.

The Browns’ odds to win the Super Bowl this season is +10000.

Cleveland started its offseason by upgrading the quarterback position. The team acquired Tyrod Taylor from the Buffalo Bills, giving them a solid veteran.  Taylor won’t turn the ball over too much. They also used the first overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft to select Heisman winning quarterback Baker Mayfield, who is expected to compete with Taylor for the starting position in training camp.

The Browns also upgraded the running back position by selecting former Georgia running back Nick Chubb, who ran for 1,175 yards and 13 touchdowns in his senior season.

Betting on the Cleveland Browns

Cleveland also upgraded the wide receiver position with the acquisition of Jarvis Landry, who is expected to line up opposite Josh Gordon. They also drafted Antonio Callaway, a talented receiver whose draft stock plummeted because of his off-field troubles.

With the talent they have on offense this year, the Browns will surprise a lot of teams in the league this year.

The Browns also improved on defense, drafting cornerback Denzel Ward with the fourth overall pick. If Myles Garrett and Jabrill Peppers continue to progress as expected, Cleveland will have one of the best defenses in the league this year.

In the AFC North, the Browns should be able to compete for second place in the division with the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals, who both failed to make the playoffs last season.

Even though they aren’t likely to make Super Bowl 2019 this season, the Browns have enough talent to compete for a playoff spot this year.
