Carolina Panthers Season Wagering Odds

The NFL pre-season is just around the corner. Today we preview Carolina Panthers season. Also, wagering odds for the 2018-19 NFL season. The Carolina Panthers finished the 2017 season with an 11-5 record, which was good for second place in the NFC South. This season, the team is hoping to finish on top of the division and make a Super Bowl run. Their odds of winning the Super Bowl this season is +3500.

Carolina’s offense revolved around quarterback Cam Newton once again, as he led the team in both passing and rushing yards. This year, they will be hoping to reduce his workload and try to keep him healthy for the postseason.

Running back Jonathan Stewart wasn’t very efficient last season, finishing with 680 yards and six touchdowns, with a 3.4 yard per carry average. Rookie back Christian McCaffrey rushed for 435 yards, but also had 651 receiving yards.

With Stewart signing with the New York Giants in the offseason, expect McCaffrey to get a bigger role in the running game.

Carolina will also be looking forward to having a healthy Greg Olsen back this season after the Pro Bowl tight end missed the majority of last season with an injury. With Devin Funchess proving he can be a number one receiver after the team traded Kelvin Benjamin last season, expect to see a better passing game in Carolina this season.

Defensively, the Panthers were surprisingly inconsistent, particularly at the cornerback position. The team addressed some of their defensive issues by using six of their eight draft picks on defensive players three of whom were defensive backs.

Last season, the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints had their way with Carolina’s secondary. The Panthers are hoping their newly acquired defensive backs can help keep the high-scoring offenses at bay when they play this season.

As long as Newton stays heathy, the Panthers will be one of the teams to fear in the NFC.
