Ravens Dez Bryant Tryout

The rumors are true surrounding the Baltimore Ravens Dez Bryan tryout. The Baltimore Ravens brought in three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant for workouts on Thursday. Bryant, who hasn’t played in the NFL since 2017, is attempting to return to the league. The tryout comes after Bryant had been in communication with the Ravens for months.

Injuries have hurt the Ravens’ depth at wide receiver early in training camp. The move would make sense. Chris Moore, a core special-teams player, is out a few weeks. Out with a broken finger. Antoine Wesley, a practice squad player last season, is seeing a specialist for a shoulder injury. Also, he might need surgery.

Bryant arrived in Baltimore on Monday. Dez underwent two days of coronavirus testing before his tryout. Wide receiver Dwayne Harris, a Pro Bowl special-teams player in 2016, also had a tryout with Baltimore on Thursday. Which former player has a chance?

Even though Bryant left the tryout without being given a deal, it is possible that the Ravens could add him to their roster at some point.

The 31-year-old wide receiver is attempting to become the second Pro Bowl wide receiver to miss two full seasons and then to the NFL since the 1970 merger (Josh Gordon was the first). Remember Josh Gordon?

In 2018, after he was released by the Dallas Cowboys, the Ravens tried to sign Bryant. He turned down a multiyear offer from the team then because he wanted a one-year deal and a chance to prove himself, in hopes of getting a bigger long-term deal in 2019.

He would later sign a one-year, $1.25 million deal with the New Orleans Saints in November 2018. However, he tore an Achilles tendon during his first practice with the Saints and has been out of the NFL since.

The Ravens have one spot open on their 80-man roster after placing cornerback Iman Marshall (knee) on injured reserve earlier last week.
