I know the rumors of trade talk came about, but I started my career in Jacksonville & the day I do decided [sic] to call it quits it will be right here in Duval. Last offseason, Case Keenum was one of the most sought after quarterbacks in the league after leading the Minnesota Vikings to the best record in the league. After the Vikings decided to sign Kirk Cousins, Keenum quickly found a home in Denver and was expected to lead the Broncos back to the playoffs for the first time since Peyton Manning retired in 2015.
Things didn’t pan out for Keenum last season as the Broncos finished with a 6-10 record. The team traded him to the Washington Redskins for a sixth round draft pick in March. The Redskins then drafted former Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who they hope will become their franchise quarterback.

With Keenum, Haskins, and Colt McCoy as their quarterbacks, the Redskins will have an interesting quarterback battle on their hands when training camp begins. For his part, Keenum is confident he can become the starter but he is also ready to help Haskins if he doesn’t get the starting job.

“I love Harbs. I love everything he’s about,” Weddle said. “He’s one of the best head coaches in the league. I know he’s our leader, and he’s going to get the brunt of it. This team believes in him. We have his back. It would be unfortunate if anything happens, whether it’s during the season or after. I don’t think that’s the right way to go. That’s not my call.”
